I walked Texas State's campus as a first-generation college student, navigating higher education without a roadmap — just like 41% of students here today. I know what it feels like to wonder if you belong, to figure things out alone, to question everything you were raised to believe.
For months, I was isolated — until I found Chi Alpha. My small group leader didn't give up on me. She pursued getting to know me, connected me with people I had things in common with, and when I finally gave Chi Alpha a real shot, it was like night and day. Suddenly I had a support system that didn't just hold me up during hard times, but challenged me to see the world the way Jesus does. It completely changed my trajectory — and led me to discover something I never knew God was lining up for me: becoming a Chi Alpha missionary myself.
Ky's story is different, but equally shaped by God's faithfulness. Since we've been married, he's developed a deep heart for discipling young men and leading our worship team. Together, our stories make us the right people for this campus — a place full of students who just need someone to love them and point them to Jesus.
8 years. 80+ students baptized. Hundreds discipled through small groups. And we're just getting started on a new four-year term.
